The video of Hitler yelling at his subjects is back, now to show us how angry the famous dictator is that a Polynesian Jew, Taika Waititi, is playing him in the new movie Jojo Rabbit – 75%, which will be about a child who during World War II creates an imaginary friend from the images he sees of Hitler on posters and propaganda.

As most of you will remember, the video where Hitler appears enraged is an excerpt from The Fall – 91%, 2004, directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel and starring Bruno Ganz as Hitler. In the original scene the Führer learns from his generals that the defeat of Germany is imminent and then Ganz gives one of the best performances of his career which has been turned into the ?Hitler finds out? meme.

Since most cannot speak German it is very easy to get carried away by the subtitles that completely change the dialogues of The fall. This time we find one of the funniest and most ingenious versions of the meme that has been seen, it seems that it was Waititi’s own idea, because we already know that his is comedy as he has shown in the past in tapes such as Interview with some Vampires – 96%.

First we see that Hitler is informed that they have received a report from Hollywood about the new movie. Jojo Rabbit, where he is a child’s imaginary friend and it is a satirical comedy. Things start to get ugly when the German leader tells them that there is no problem as long as there are no Jews involved; his nervous generals tell him that the actor who embodies him is “a Jewish Polynesian named Taika Waititi.” Then he asks those who follow the actor on Instagram to come out and begins to complain and launches phrases such as:

I thought “Polynesian” was just a delicious chicken nugget dip! And what kind of name is Taika Waititi? It’s like all the ugly parts of the alphabet have a child!

We also recommend: Taika Waititi: his best films on the Tomatometer

Then he remembers that first Charles Chaplin made fun of him (The Great Dictator – 92%) and then Mel Brooks, who has played it comically on several occasions. He also mentions that the meme has been around for over a decade and finally comments that they should make their own Hitler movie; he ends by saying “get me whoever I directed Thor: Ragnarok, that’s a movie ?(The sad news for the Führer is that the Marvel film is also Waititi’s work).

The approach that the New Zealand filmmaker had with the Marvel superhero revitalized the Thor franchise but also divided opinions among the audience, as the change in tone between the first two installments with respect to the third was a bit abrupt. Some consider Thor: Ragnarok – 92% a masterpiece and others detest it, probably neither of the two positions is very objective, but the truth is that Waititi’s personal interpretation of the God of Thunder managed to conquer the box office.

Do not miss: Taika Waititi to direct Flash Gordon animated film

Soon the New Zealander will be back in the ranks of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the fourth installment of Thor that is titled Thor: Love and Thunder and that will have Natalie Portman taking the mantle of Thor in her female version. We may see Waititi again as Korg, the stone alien who debuted in Thor: Ragnarok and what came back in Avengers: Endgame – 95%.

Besides Taika in the role of Hitler, Jojo Rabbit It will show us Scarlett Johansson as the mother of the protagonist, who will be played by Roman Griffin Davis. The film will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and hit theaters in the United States in October.

It just doesn’t stop: the fire continues in Greece. Now the hell of flames has reached the capital Athens.

On Friday morning, violent firestorms and other wildfires developed, as the Greek state television reported. Along the central Greek motorway from Athens to Thessaloniki in the north, a number of warehouses and industrial plants caught fire, and numerous explosions occurred.

Thick billows of smoke covered the sky of Athens. They came from fires in the northern outskirts of the capital.

In the north of Athens, the power goes out more and more often.

The state network operator announced on Friday afternoon that it would take individual parts of Athens temporarily and as planned from the network in order to be able to maintain the supply as a whole.

The Greek government sent warning text messages to the residents of Malakasa and Sfendali to leave the area. The evacuation has also been announced for the town of Oropos further north. The affected region is around 25 kilometers from the Greek capital.

?We have to fight dozens of forest fires. Three of them – in Athens, the Peloponnese and Euboea – are enormous, ?said the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in a speech on state television.

He warned of an ?unprecedented state of affairs because the past days of heat and drought have turned the country into a powder keg?. Therefore, people are not allowed to visit forests until at least Monday.

In Greece, temperatures above 40 degrees and hurricane gusts threaten to fuel the forest fires that have been going on for days.

Thousands of residents left their homes. Hundreds of firefighters and fire engines tried to protect the nearby town of Marathon from the flames that raged along the central highway from Athens to the north of the country.

Few can boast of such a thing: in 1978, Barry Gibb escribió siete número uno: ?How Deep Is Your Love?, ?Stayin ?Alive?, ?Night Fever? y ?If I Can?t Have You?, todos de Saturday night fever; “Shadow Dancing” and “(Love Is) Thicker Than Water” for his brother Andy and “Grease” by Frankie Valli. On the Hot 100 of March 3, 1978, three songs by the Gibb brothers were in the Top 5.

It was like that for a long time and then it wasn’t like that.

In the early 1970s, the Bee Gees came to Miami to try to make records in the United States. It worked quite well for them, and Barry stayed where he has been a neighbor of Matt Damon and Pablo Escobar.

He is 74 years old and his legendary lion’s mane is now gray under an Australian-style leather hat. His words pierce his still magnificent teeth with a rich accent that his origins (born on the Isle of Man, raised in Manchester and Australia) fail to explain.

Gibb’s latest album, Greenfields: The Gibb Brothers Songbook, Vol. 1, recorded in Nashville with producer Dave Cobb, is out in January; first there will be an HBO documentary from director Frank Marshall, The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend a Broken Heart.

Early in the film, we see Gibb and his brothers Maurice and Robin just as we remember them: sparkling silver open-necked shirts, glowing medallions against their breasts. Then a spotlight goes to Barry, cutting out the rest of the band. It’s like an omen: Since 1979, Gibb has lost three brothers: Andy, the youngest – who became a soloist with Barry as a mentor and struggled with drug addiction – died in 1988, aged 30. Maurice died in 2003 and Robin in 2012.

This leaves Barry Gibb as the manager of a contemporary standards songbook. Thanks to karaoke it’s hard to imagine a world without Bee Gees songs but Gibb saw enough to understand that nothing is forever.

“The mission is to keep the music alive,” he said. ?Regardless of us and me. Someday, like my brothers, I will be gone and I want the music to last ?.

The new album is a rescue of that musical legacy, with re-readings of his classics in country versions.

Gibb said there has always been country in the Bee Gees sound, even if his brothers didn’t like it. But the idea of ??making a country album had been on the wish list for decades, until last year, when the Bee Gees signed a new deal with Capitol Records. There were discussions about going through the catalog and Gibb realized that his country time had come.

Cobb, 46, has won Grammy Awards for his work in the genre and turned out to be a huge fan of the Bee Gees. So they got together to record with Keith Urban, Alison Krauss, Gillian Welch, David Rawlings and Dolly Parton.

A long story

In Australia, as minors, the brothers played in bars and were “absolute Crocodile Dundee”. The Australian crowd was amazing, ?but it takes a lot. We witnessed many fights as we sang. I saw two guys hit each other without standing up. “

They had a hit, with “Spicks and Specks.” “Robin used to say it was our first number one, but really it was only in Perth.” They returned to England and signed with Robert Stigwood, then the partner of Beatles manager Brian Epstein, and found 1960s London in full swing.

“We fell into flower power,” Gibb said. “The idea was to find out what character you would dress up as.” One day in an elevator he crossed Eric Clapton. “He was dressed as a cowboy and I as a priest.”

Barry was 20 then; his siblings were not 18. ?We were children,? he said, ?and very naive. We were for a long time ?.

They soon discovered alcohol, marijuana and pills, Gibb said. Their early British albums like 1967’s Bee Gees ‘1st, with their mind-blowing Klaus Voormann cover art, eccentric orchestration, and titles like ?Every Christian Lion Hearted Man Will Show You,? made them seem active in the’ 60s lifestyle. They were not.

As drenched as they are in the vibes of the moment, the Bee Gees albums of the late ’60s are also filled with a tremulous sadness that feels unique to the Gibbs. They sound like sad child princes who dominate the pop landscape from their tower window.

But even then, their albums were heading to the charts. They never had a Brian Wilson experimental phase. They were true immigrants, adaptable and industrious.

In 1969, the three Bee Gees were married and living separate lives. “I think we stopped really knowing each other after we got to England,” Gibb said. They started arguing in the way that only a band of brothers could. Robin Gibb left the band in 1969 and returned 18 months later at Stigwood’s urging. Many problems, Gibb said, remain unsolved. Instead of speaking, they wrote “How can you mend a broken heart?” And they sang to themselves what could not be said.

After moving to Miami at the suggestion of their friend Clapton, they began making some of the biggest records in history.

Songs like “Jive Talkin” had a heavier beat than anything they had done. Gibb thought of his new direction as a path to R&B. But his contribution to Saturday Night Fever would redefine them. When John Travolta strutted to the beat of the smooth bass line of ?Stayin ‘Alive,? the anguished falsetto that Barry Gibb had recently discovered, turned into disco.

“We got sucked into that,” Gibb said. ?We were just making albums that we love. In fact, we don’t even call them ‘disco’. I never thought that a Stylistics album was a disco and ‘Too Much Heaven’ was not a disco. “How Deep Is Your Love” doesn’t either. But they classify you. “

The film’s soundtrack album is its greatest success: 16 times platinum, it is still the second best-selling soundtrack in history, after The bodyguard of Whitney Houston.

The disco, as a cultural phenomenon, was black, mestizo and gay; The fact that the Bee Gees weren’t any of these things didn’t stop advocates of the genre and the “Disco Sucks” movement in the crossfire. They became outcasts.

But Barry has lived long enough to see the conversation around his music change. There are now dozens of videos in which YouTube users, mostly black and very young, react to the video for ?Too mucho Heaven?.

The video is a document of its time. The Bee Gees are singing in a recording studio surrounded by ferns, backed by a section of strings. They wear silk shirts with open necks. Barry’s jeans are a lewd joke. At first, YouTubers are skeptical. Then, almost without exception, they are left speechless when the voices arrive and Gibb and his brothers begin to build a cathedral with nothing but breath in their lungs.

Barry Gibb has not seen these videos. But you’ve seen some clips of young people covering Bee Gees songs like ?How Deep Is Your Love,? and some of them aren’t that bad. ?There was a boy no more than 11, 12 years old. Whoever he is, he’ll be one of the greats if he doesn’t lose his mind. That is the question. Do not? That is always the question ?.

Dogecoin: Elon Musk returns to defend the memecoin

Despite the recovery in the cryptocurrency market, Dogecoin and other token memes seem not to benefit to the point where some are questioning their sustainability in the long term. Doge is stuck at $ 0.20. SHIB is down 26.2% over the last 30. The statistics are even less encouraging for Baby Doge. The Doge’s child fell 51.6% last month.

Is this the end of token memes?

The crypto crash took a heavy toll on the performance of token memes

Tesla’s turnaround along with the Chinese crackdown plunged the crypto universe into a crisis similar to that of March 2020. Bitcoin’s price fell by more than 50%. But, the consequences have been much more severe for token memes that were until then in totally mind-blowing form on the stock exchange. We are talking about Dogecoin which jumped by more than 10,000%. Shiba Inu has already grown by 1,949,437.1% according to data from Coingecko. Baby Doge, launched very recently, has already seen its price increase by 2,322.4%.

Since the crypto crash, we have Dogecoin which has seen its price drop by more than 70%. The price of Shiba Inu is divided by 9 despite the announcement of the exchange of Shiba Swap. Doge lost his fourth place and Shiba is relegated to forty second place. What is even more penalizing for token memes: They are not as much of the famous cryptos that investors bought dirt cheap during the downturn. Despite their availability on many crypto exchanges, they are not too much adored by institutions.

Token memes influencer no longer holds the rope

An element that has always carried the course of token memes: the support of Elon Musk. But since Musk’s blow to bitcoin, he’s not as popular on the networks. His tweets are not received as enthusiastically as they used to be. He multiplied the tweets in favor of the Doge, the king of token memes has not budged. The effect ” bump “Has become an effect” light ».

However, some analysts believe Musk’s decrease in grip is a good signal for token memes. Reducing the effect of stars would allow token memes to start off on other, much more solid foundations. For example, the Doge can rely on its scalability and the pro-environment side of its network. Shiba Inu with ShibaSwap can hope to compete with Unisawp and PancakeSwap.

All hope is not yet lost

The end of token memes? Not really! Besides, Musk himself said the Dogecoin has the basics to overtake Bitcoin and Ethereum. He stated : ” Doge has the merit of maximizing the base layer transaction rate and minimizing the cost of transactions, with exchanges de facto acting as a secondary layer.. “. Lately, Burger King announced that its customers in Brazil can buy burgers with Dogecoin.

Shiba Inu meanwhile even wants to leave the category of token memes because since version 2.0 of its “Woof Paper”, crypto has been touting its utilitarian values. Shiba is looking to launch the most decentralized exchange in the world. Recently a petition was launched on social networks so that Robinhood can list SHIB on its platform.

Another weekend is coming and that means that in Espinof we are going to review the best cinema that can be seen free open on a Spanish national television channel. Today I have chosen seven films. As usual, those movies that you have not seen or of which you no longer remember practically anything are left out.

Friday July 30

‘Back to the future III’

The least accomplished of the trilogy, it is true, but this kind of western by Robert Zemeckis continues to have its charm, largely due to the undeniable chemistry shared by Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd.

22:00 and DMAX

Criticism in Espinof

Saturday July 31

‘Deep Rising’

Deep Rising

Before ‘The Mummy’, Stephen Sommers already left a good feeling with this film that mixes horror, action and sea monsters. A good pastime that knows not to take things seriously to entertain the viewer.

15:15 in Neox

‘This house is a ruin’

This house is a ruin

A mythical comedy from the 80s starring Tom Hanks and Shelley Long. Everything that could go wrong comes out in the worst possible way – with pleasant results for the viewer – for a couple who believe they have found a real real estate bargain.

18:00 at Paramount

Criticism in Espinof

‘Final Destination 5’

Final destination

One of the most stimulating installments of this peculiar horror franchise. He knows very well how to respect the style of it and at the same time find a way to surprise the viewer.

20:20 at Neox

‘Bandits’

bandits

A cross between comedy and thriller of the most particular that relies mainly on its wonderful star trio formed by Cate Blanchett, Bruce Wills and Billy Bob Thornton. It also has some change of tone that in other hands would have condemned it to catastrophe, but Barry Levinson knows how to handle himself with ease.

23:55 at Four

‘Dog Soldiers’

Dog Soldiers Escena

Neil Marshall’s debut is a violent show of humor, action and horror with werewolves in which it is true that the lack of budget is noticeable, but in return it has a momentum that many others almost would like.

‘Community’

Community

A wonderful black comedy by Álex de la Iglesia with echoes of the mythical comic ’13 Rue del Percebe ‘. It also has an outstanding cast headed by an excellent Carmen Maura.

01:20 in Paramount

Criticism in Espinof

From 'Mutant Action' to '30 coins': all Álex de la Iglesia's movies and series ordered from worst to best

Others

Any film that has already appeared in a similar post in the last six months is discarded for the main selection. I do not want to reward the continuous reissues of some titles, but that does not mean that you may be interested to know that you can also see:

Just over three weeks before the end of the summer transfer window, the AXIS still has not recruited new players. This Friday, Claude Puel gave a new update on the situation of his team, at a press conference. He hopes to pull off a nice shot before the market closes.

ASSE: Puel proceeds to the financial restructuring of the club as a priority

ASSE does not have the means to recruit new players at this time. Claude Puel’s team needs to strengthen, especially after flirting with relegation to Ligue 2 last season. According to the general manager of the Greens, the tendency is to do with the current workforce of AS Saint-Étienne, without reinforcement, lack of budget to recruit. ?The transfer window is calm everywhere, except for the clubs which have owners who invest and who therefore enjoy themselves. It is as I announced, there is no surprise », he first indicated.

?This is my 4th transfer window with ASSE and from the start we have been trying to bring the club back to more virtuous things for him and to integrate it into the financial aspects that he can have. We still have to make efforts on this point ?, then explained Claude Puel. Indeed, the coach of the Greens initiated a downsizing and reduction of the payroll of his team. High-paid players have been pushed towards the club’s exit door since his arrival in October 2019.

The general manager on the lookout for an opportunity

However, the Stéphanois coach remains in tune with the market until the evening of August 31, 2021, the date of the end of the summer transfer window. “We are looking at the market for opportunities, as we have been able to do with Yvan Neyou (midfielder) or Yvann Maçon (full back), players who have fallen through the cracks and are unknown, but who have potential”, announced Claude Puel. ASSE also recruited Jean-Philippe Krasso in the summer of 2020, without transfer compensation, but the Franco-Ivorian striker still does not meet the expectations of the technical staff of Sainté, unlike Neyou and Mason.

Reggie Jackson will stay with the team he said helped save his career by agreeing to a two-year, $ 22 million deal with the LA Clippers, a source told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The free agent point guard will return for the maximum the Clippers can pay him under CBA rules, according to Wojnarowski.

Jackson revived his career last season, improving his offense and making decisive shots to help the Clippers reach their first Western Conference Finals. After averaging 10.7 points and shooting 43.3% from 3 points in the regular season, the 10-year veteran emerged as one of the Clippers’ stars in the playoffs.

With Kawhi Leonard out for the Clippers’ last eight playoff games with a partially torn ACL, Jackson helped Paul George carry the offense, averaging 17.8 points and shooting 40.8% from 3 points in the postseason.

Jackson scored 22 points to help the Clippers steal Game 5 at Utah before helping eliminate the Jazz in Game 6 with 27 points and 10 assists.

The point guard became a fan favorite, hearing chants of his name as he averaged 20.3 points in the Western Conference Finals.

With Jackson back, the Clippers hope to keep their core intact by re-signing Leonard, who declined his player option and became a free agent. The expectation is that Leonard negotiates a new deal to stay with the Clippers, Wojnarowski reported.

Clippers president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank said after last week’s NBA draft that the team hopes to stick with Jackson, Leonard, Nicolas Batum and Serge Ibaka. Ibaka opted for the second year of his contract and Batum agreed to return with a two-year contract.

Ether has increased by 3% in the last 24 hours.

Ether, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap, was in the spotlight on Thursday during the latest hard fork upgrade, dubbed “London,” officially activated on the Ethereum blockchain network. The upgrade contributed to bullish price action, with Ether rising around 5% in the past 24 hours, compared to a 3% increase in bitcoin over the same period.

Despite the ETH rally, some analysts expect widespread institutional adoption to take a few years. Institutional interest has boosted the attractiveness of bitcoin investing over the past year, which has helped crypto rally in the fourth quarter of 2020.

?I think Ethereum could reverse bitcoin’s market cap in the long run, but not this year,? said Ki Young Ju, CEO of CryptoQuant, in an interview with WuBlockchain.

?I met Goldman Sachs, Fidelity and other large institutional asset management companies in Miami a few weeks ago and they said they still have a hard time explaining what Ethereum / DeFi is (finance decentralized) to their bosses, ?said Ju.

Meanwhile, some institutions remain active in the cryptocurrency market, directly or indirectly. On July 22, Fidelity Investments acquired a 7.4% stake in cryptocurrency miner Marathon Digital Holdings for approximately $ 20 million.

French asset manager Melanion Capital obtained regulatory approval to launch an exchange-traded fund (ETF) on Thursday that tracks the price of bitcoin and several cryptocurrency-related stocks.

Also on Thursday, Invesco, a US-based asset manager, filed an application with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to list an ETF with indirect exposure to bitcoin through futures contracts and other investment vehicles.

Large institutions are entering the cryptocurrency market with a bitcoin-based approach. However, it will likely be some time before investors fully embrace altcoins such as Ether, as regulatory hurdles need to be lifted first.

Ethereum London hard fork

The ether was initially stable after the activation of the London hard fork, but began to rally around an hour later. At the time of going to press, Ether was changing hands at around $ 2,807, down from around $ 2,600 just before the changes took effect, according to data from CoinDesk 20.

Many crypto traders are focusing on a component of the upgrade, called Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) 1559, which changes the network’s fee structure so that a certain amount of the cryptocurrency supply is ” burnt ?or withdrawn from circulation. The bet is that the blockchain’s net issuance of new cryptocurrency units will slow down due to the change, ultimately helping to set a floor below the price.

Analysts from Stack Funds and elsewhere have likened the London hard fork and the implementation of EIP 1559 to the Bitcoin blockchain halvings that occur every four years in the sense that major changes in growth of the cryptocurrency supply are deployed at specific points in the blockchain lifecycle. Some investors believe that Bitcoin halving events in the past have helped push the price of the underlying cryptocurrency up.

As of 3:06 p.m. UTC, some 585 ETH fees had been burned, or roughly 43% of the block rewards issued since the Ethereum hard fork went into effect at data block # 12,965,000, according to the Ultrasound website. money.

Ether techniques

Ether is now above the 100-day moving average for the first time since June. The price rally broke through a significant technical hurdle, although price may find some resistance at the $ 3,000 level.

The ETH rally outperformed bitcoin after a few months of consolidation. The ETH / BTC ratio is testing initial resistance at 0.06, but could rise further as momentum improves.

Bitcoin seasonality

Similar to stocks, bitcoin is approaching a period of seasonal weakness, which could encourage buyers to take profits. The table below shows, on average, relatively low returns in August over an eight-year period. September tends to be the worst month. Purchases resume in October and February.

Seasonal patterns can vary, especially as bitcoin moved away from its historical trends when it fell in May.

Stablecoins as collateral

According to Delphi Digital, a research firm that focuses on digital assets, margin assets for bitcoin futures trading have shifted from bitcoin to stablecoins. The change has become particularly significant as open interest with cash margin soared after the bitcoin price fell in May.

?The most important implication of this is that buyers don’t have the added benefit of holding both BTC and BTC spot futures while they rise, but they are no longer exposed to losses. larger when their position turns against them (because their margin is in stablecoins, not BTC), ?Delphi wrote. ?For shorts, they can profit from downtrends without their margin value eroding, but they lack protection when BTC goes up. “

Some investors believe that Bitcoin halving events in the past have helped push the price of the underlying cryptocurrency up.

As of 3:06 p.m. UTC, some 585 ETH fees had been burned, or roughly 43% of the block rewards issued since the Ethereum hard fork went into effect at data block # 12,965,000, according to the Ultrasound website. money.

The Pet Shop Boys are one of the latest additions to the growing roster for ‘Passport’: Back to Our Roots’, an intimate concert series that will raise money for independent venues in the UK.

The fundraising campaign, which started in July, aims to bring established and important artists to grassroots music venues that have been threatened with closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.

With the likes of Elbow, Everything Everything and Ash already on the roster, organizers of ‘Passport’: Back to Our Roots’ have confirmed this morning (September 7) that the Pet Shop Boys will also be participating.

The duo have agreed to perform at Camden’s Electric Ballroom in London, with a date yet to be announced. The entire ‘Passport’: The “Back to Our Roots” shows will only take place when music venues can open without social distancing, although this is expected to be a reality in 2021.

In addition to the Pet Shop Boys, KT Tunstall (who will perform at both Windmill Brixton and PJ Molloys in Dunfermline), Russell Watson (Manchester’s Stoller Hall) and Passenger (Brighton’s Komedia) have also joined the campaign.

Admission to these shows will take place through a raffle that will last three weeks from September 14 to October 5. For a minimum donation of £ 5 to the campaign, music fans will be entered into the drawing to win passes to the show of their choice for themselves and a guest.

The organizers of ‘Passport: Back to Our Roots’ also announced today that £ 75,000 had been raised from the first prize in the raffle, which awarded entry to future shows by Elbow, Public Service Broadcasting, Everything Everything, The Slow Readers Club and Ash.

“We are amazed at the incredible response to the first fundraising block, and we want to extend our sincere thanks to all who donated, and to all the artists who pledged to play a grassroots show,” Sally Cook, co-founder of ‘ Passport ‘: Back to Our Roots,’ he said.

“The flood of support (we read all the comments!) Just goes to show how important grassroots venues are to UK music fans. £ 75,000 is an amazing start and will help make a real difference for the locals involved. and the industry as a whole, but we won’t stop there. We are very excited to announce this new group of artists this week. ”
